The official holiday season in
Siouxland kicks off with the
Downtown for the Holiday's evening
of family events on Monday, November 24, 2008.
The parade winds it's way through the streets of downtown as people gather on the sidewalks and in the skyways to watch the floats lit in holiday lights. The spirit of the holidays continues in the 4th Street Plaza with entertainment by local school children.
As the sounds of the horse's hooves and sleigh bells can be heard in the distance, the children's excitement fills the Plaza awaiting the arrival of our special guest! Screams overpower the entertainment as Santa in his big red hitch wagon drawn by two beautiful Percheron horses appears around the corner of the Terra
Centre. Santa along with school children count down ...the
holidays lights go on and a beautiful fireworks display explodes high
above the plaza!
Afterwards enjoy beautifully decorated trees at the Festival of Trees
in the Terra Centre Atrium and let the children meet Santa at Santa's
House in Town Square.
